"Surfing Is Our Life, Let Us Share It With You"
FAQs

Do you provide boards?
Yes, we provide all the equipment for surfing, including surfboards.

I have my own board, but I am not sure its right for me, should I bring it?
Yes.  We will help you understand your board, from how it was designed, to who and what the shaper had in mind when he made it.  We will help you discover your board and unlock its potential.  In some cases the surfboard you own might be completely wrong for you.  If that’s the case, our quiver is sure to have something to your liking.

Do you provide wetsuits?  Will I need one?

If you would like a wetsuit, please notify us before hand, so that we can arrange to have one dry and ready for you. The water temperature changes daily, but its safe to say that during July and August, you will not need a wetsuit.  Some surfers prefer to surf with wetsuit shirts when the air temperature is cool, but Jersey surfers tend to go sans rubber whenever possible.

Do you operate on Memorial Day, the fourth of July and and Labor Day?  Yes, we operate on all holidays.

I’ve never surfed before and I really want to try, but I think I might be too old to start, should I bother?
Surfing is like golf.  Anyone can have a fun day “messing around.”  And also like golf, it also has a slow learning curve that has several plateaus.  We can help you get to a level of competence where you can enjoy your time in the water and feel comfortable.  Surfing is just like anything else in life, where the younger you start, the easier it is to pick up, and the more your practice the better you get.  That being said, I have seen tremendous improvement from aspiring surfers in their 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s.  You might not make the pro tour, but you can still play on the same course.

What is the best way learn?  Should I sign up for the camp or private lessons?
Private lessons are the best introduction to surfing.  We recommend at least one private lesson for the absolute beginner before starting camp.  Three lessons and you will be perfectly primed for the camp’s activities.

Where are you located?

This one always seems to give some people trouble.  We are a mobile business, operating on the beach in Belmar and Bradley Beach, NJ.  We do not have a physical address.  Our three locations are on the sand, at the following sites:

Belmar: We set up our tent on the 3rd Avenue beach in Belmar, NJ.  Our "desk" is located on the boardwalk there. We have an ordinance with the town where we are the only surfers allowed in the water between 3rd avenue and the Shark River Inlet. GPS coordinates are 3rd Ave and Ocean Ave, Belmar, NJ.

Bradley Beach: We are set up on the boardwalk on the northern-most beach in Bradley, near the Ocean Grove border. GPS coordinates are Lake Terrace and Ocean Ave, Bradley Beach.

We also give private lessons and parties all summer long (and at other NJ beaches too!).
You can find us at our locations Monday-Friday 8am-4:00pm all summer long.  We are also there most weekends and specified free clinic dates.
