The entire Kinsel family has been involved with Summertime Surf since day 1, and the Belmar community has been better off because of it. Chris has not only been able to benefit from the ride-but has helped document it as well. Chris has a level of passion, maturity, and respect we wish we saw more of in many adults in the world. We are lucky to have his work ethic at the camps and his unique perspective and artistic eye behind the lens.

How long have you been involved with Summertime Surf? I was one of the first campers to attend the camp back in 2006.
Why do you Work at STS? I work to share the love of surfing I have with the next generation of young local surfers. Not only do I teach surfing at the camp, but I learn just as much from the kids as they learn from me, its two-way street. Everyone has something to offer, whether that be surfing or not.
Besides working at STS, what else do you do to pay your bills? I work with NorthEnd Builders as a construction assistant. I also have my own photography business, Chris Kinsel Photography I also barback at the Headliner.
At what age did you start surfing?
-I started surfing at age 8 (with the surf camp)
Where have you traveled to surf? I have traveled up and down the east coast, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica several times.
Other than surfing, do you have any talents? I have a passion for surfing photography. I spend just as much time, if not more swimming in the ocean with a camera then I do surfing. I find pleasure in sharing the “behind the scenes” perspective of the surf culture that the everyday person does not get to experience. My work can be viewed @ photokinsel.com
