This young Nicaragua-born phenom is grom at heart, thirsty to learn and focused on his goals. Where did you go to high school?
Instituto Nacional Emanuel Mongalo Y Rubio in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.

CPR & First Aid
How long have you been involved with SUMMERTIME? This will be my third summer teaching at summertime surf camps!
Why do you work at SUMMERTIME?
It’s an amazing opportunity to get to work doing what I love to do! The atmosphere is great and I love passing on the passion of surf to the groms!
Besides working at the camps, what else do you do to pay your bills?
In Nicaragua I work at a surf shop as a surf instructor. In New Jersey I work doing whatever I can find. Restaurants, landscaping, or whatever comes my way.
At what age did you start surfing? How many years ago was that?
I started when I was 16 years old, 6 years ago.
Where have you traveled to surf?
I’ve been to Virginia beach, Outer Banks NC, Long Beach NY, Costa Rica, and all around my home country, Nicaragua.
Do you surf in contests? What are some notable results?
I’ve competed in several competitions in nicaragua. When I was 17 I placed second in the junior national competition of Nicaragua. But to me my most notable result was when I took third place in the Virginia Beach Coastal Edge open competition in 2013. It was my first time competing abroad and I had a great time.
Other than surfing, do you have any talents?
I love playing guitar almost as much as surfing!

I’m okay on the guitar but don’t ask me to sing haha
