CELEBRATING THIS SEASON’S COWORKERS OF THE WEEK
Celebrating This Season’s Coworkers of the Week
Thank you to the best staff for another epic season!
Hey surfers! As summer comes to a close, its time to express gratitude to the amazing individuals who contributed to Summertime Surf School. From the dedicated Boardwalk Staff to the creative minds behind the awesome merchandise (available for purchase here!), the team has put tremendous effort throughout the season and beyond to share the stoke of surfing with all ages. While many unsung heroes work behind the scenes, a special shoutout to the administration staff holding down the fort in the office! Let’s reminisce and applaud the beach and ocean staff members who were recognized as Coworker of the Week this season!
Week Zer0 – Griffin K.
“Everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of surfing.” During the Special Needs Clinic, Griffin showed initiative to ensure all surfers felt involved and celebrated throughout the day.
Week 1 – Alex R.
Meet Mr. Yes! Alex never says no to helping his coworkers and exceeding expectations. He is only in his second year at Summertime Surf, and his future is so bright!
Week 2 – Kristen A.
Kristen continues to go above and beyond to provide the best environment for campers and students alike. Even on her days off, she comes down to the beach to shoot epic water shots to share with participants!
Week 3 – Hope J.
Hope’s friendly demeanor and endless patience made them a favorite among students and coworkers. She is also the first “rookie” to win coworker of the week in 2024!
Week 4 – Conor D.
Not only did he come back from California this summer to “pick up” a few shifts, but he also seamlessly managed the Summertime Surf Belmar location with professionalism and grace, like the veteran he is.
Week 5 – Casey F.
Casey continues to show more initiative each season she comes back. This year, she took a prominent leadership role with the Summer Grom Team and always showed up asking how she could help.
Week 6 – Kevin F.
You may know Kevin as a leader at Summertime Surf’s Point Pleasant location, or you may know him from a magical week in Rhode Island. Staff like Kevin help make new locations flourish!
Week 7 – Sandy H.
It’s always sunny with Sandy! Her bright and cheerful personality is hard to miss. She keeps the little ones engaged during the camp session while teaching them how to have fun and be safe in the ocean.
Week 8 – Pete R.
Manager Pete in Point Pleasant has set an example for managers across all locations by implementing new ideas to improve on-site effectiveness all summer. When Pete shows up, you know the day is better because of it!
Week 9 – Dave L.
As a first-year Ocean Staff Member, Dave has taken the initiative to identify areas of improvement and set out to steer them in the right direction. You can count on this “rookie” to bring veteran leadership and stoke to the school every day!
Week 10 – Kristen J.
We are so grateful to have Kristen back in 2024! She made a full recovery from a bad bike accident at the end of last season, so to have her 100% healthy and finish the season strong is oh-so-sweet! She was doing double-duty as Boardwalk Staff & Program Lead to finish the season taboo!
Week 11 – Gerry C.
Gerry finished the season by working in Asbury Park for the first time. He brought his calming presence to the froth party at 7th Ave jetty to end the season on a high note! Keep an eye out for his awesome artwork on next year’s shirt of the summer!
THANK YOU to each and every co-worker! You have made this summer unforgettable. Your dedication, hard work, and love for surfing have made a difference in countless lives. Here’s to more waves, fun, and memories in the coming seasons! 🌊🏄♂️ As we all look forward to the future, let’s carry the spirit of camaraderie and passion that defined this summer into everything we do. Whether it’s catching the perfect wave or supporting each other through challenges, let’s continue to ride the highs and navigate the lows together. Remember, it’s not just about the destination but the journey and the people we share it with.
