Explore some of the top favorite destinations recommended by our entire staff!

Puerto Rico

The Easiest Surf Trip

It’s hard for this place not to feel like home when you’re a creature of habit and return to the same location, learning the wave better each time and making friends with the local community. From the tropical views, warm water, good waves, and fantastic food, it is hard to beat. An easy surf trip that our staff can be found enjoying forever.

Beyond the surf, Puerto Rico offers a rich tapestry of experiences. Wander through the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, where colorful colonial buildings and historic forts tell tales of centuries past. Dive into the lush rainforests of El Yunque, where cascading waterfalls and exotic wildlife create a paradise for nature lovers. And don’t miss the bioluminescent bays, where the water glows with a magical blue light as you paddle through under the starlit sky.

P.S. If you’re traveling from the United States, you don’t even need a passport to get there!

Oahu, Hawaii

Home to the Eddie

This surf mecca is famous for its massive winter swells and world-class breaks, like Pipeline and Waimea Bay. It’s a place where you can truly test your skills and experience the raw power of the ocean. There’s some great hiking and some really cool Ridge hikes that you are able to do when you need a break from the water and active outside.

Barbados

Favorite Long Left Wave

The wave goes on forever, the water is crystal clear blue-green, and you’re surfing with the turtles…need I say anything else? Staff can be found here for a few weeks of the winter, enjoying island life.

Bali

A More Exotic Adventure

With its warm waters, lush landscapes, and vibrant culture, Bali offers an unforgettable surfing experience. Spots like Uluwatu and Padang Padang are renowned for their epic waves and breathtaking scenery. The overall scene is just unimaginable and extraordinary here, a must-visit for anyone seeking more adventure.

Bocas Del Toro, Panama

Different Breaks All Within Reach

Growing up in New Jersey, there were only beach breaks, so being able to surf a beach break and then, five minutes later, a point break, reef break, slab, and everything in between makes this spot a favorite for many.

Santa Teresa, Costa Rica

Highly Rated

The ultimate wildlands of surfing between the nature, the people, and the waves. It was an incredible experience unlike anything ever before. With its consistent waves, tropical climate, and rich biodiversity, Costa Rica is a haven for surfers and nature lovers alike.

Outer Banks, North Carolina

Every October, Summertime Surf organizes a staff trip to the Outer Banks, and it’s an absolute blast thanks to the consistent waves. Everyone is thrilled to spend time with 20 colleagues all under one roof, and surfing daily surpasses any other surf adventure. It’s amazing to see that this trip ranks among the staff’s top favorite surf experiences.
