Beach & Ocean Safety School Assemblies
These fun and engaging presentations are given in the weeks before summer vacation. Faculty and students are reminded of the ocean’s raw power, and how to safely enjoy it.
In addition to in-classroom presentations, some schools take advantage of Summertime Surf’s Beach Feild Trips, offered in late May and Early June. We feel there is no better way to transition from school mode to summer mode, than under the friendly tutelage of an experienced group of watermen and women.

Scholarship Programs
This program has been helping more local kids enjoy Summertime Surf School since the beginning days of STS. A public/private partnership agreement enrolls local kids who would not otherwise be able to attend the Kids Surf Camp program.
If you are interested in the scholarship for someone you love, please fill out this form.
Special Needs Surf Outings
Do you know a child with special needs who would want to have an unforgettable surfing experience? June’s series of free clinics introduce the basics of surf technique and ocean safety for special needs students and their families at their speed.
In 2023, Summertime Surf partnered with Manasquan and Point Pleasant school districts to formalize an annual end-of-school-year field trip for high school students with special needs. With the help of volunteers and highly trained surf instructors, this trip has helped students and teachers end the school year on a joyful note!
Celebrating Local Heroes
Local heroes step up to meet challenges for the greater good. Whether it be adapting to a new schedule, creating protocols to enhance safety, or simply moving through a working environment inundated by the stress of a global pandemic, the public servants and workers of Ocean & Monmouth County have stepped up in a big way.
Summertime Surf recognizes those who have had their work lives impacted by the pandemic, and have adapted to help the communities in which they serve.
Because of the hard work of these men and women, life carries on, and we feel that these heroes and their families deserve a thank you.

Surfrider Family Day @ Asbury Park
Family Day at the Beach is one of the longest-running community outreach programs found on the Jersey Shore. Summertime Surf is proud to have been a part of it since 2007.
“One highlight of Family Day is that it’s completely free, providing an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the beach, especially those from low-income families who might not otherwise have access to beach experiences. This inclusive spirit is rooted in the chapter’s work, dating back to 2003 when they advocated to make surfing legal in Asbury Park. That initiative aimed to encourage residents, many of whom had never experienced the joy of surfing, to connect with the ocean.” ~ Surf Rider By Lauren Brajer
Boys & Girls Club
The Boys & Girls Club of Asbury Park has taught swimming at the YMCA for decades.
Working with this amazing group of people is inspiring. STS’s key partnerships with @kyds_nj and @bgcmonmouth provide engaging programming and valuble mentoring to the youth of Asbury Park, Neptune, and Long Branch.
