Kids Surf Club

“Next-Step” programming for intermediate students (Levels 2+) ages 7-16 is offered Monday – Friday. These 3hr and 30min guided surf sessions are for experienced young surfers looking to progress their skills in a more independent setting. Perfect for kids who have mastered the basics and have begun to try to catch waves on their own. Kids Surf Club is the “next-step” between Kids Camp and the competitive Grom Team.

Enrollment is open throughout the summer, and the club is designed to inspire young surfers to improve rapidly.

How is Surf Club different from Surf Camp?

Kids Surf Club offers a more independent learning environment compared to the structured format of surf camp.
5:1 Ratio of students to instructor vs 4:1 ratio in Surf Camp
Surf Club members can use their own equipment as well as STS’s more performance-oriented surfboards

After completion of at least 4 weeks of the Kids Surf Club, surfers ages 13+ are eligible to join the Counselor In Training (C.I.T.) program!

We are excited to offer 6 weeks of the Kids Surf Club in Bradley Beach for the 2026 season! All sessions are a 5 day (Monday-Friday) commitment running from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
- Week 2: June 29th – July 3rd
- Week 3: July 6th – 10th
- Week 4: July 13th – 17th
- Week 5: July 20th – 24th
- Week 6: July 27th – 31st
- Week 7: August 3rd – 7th

The Kids Surf Club will start with the Kids Surf Camp under the tent to reinforce the chalkboard lessons before breaking off to focus on free surfing, paddling skills, and more!
- Instructors & Counselors use verbal cues to guide students entering, navigating, and selecting waves in a surf lineup with other “next step” students.
- Students receive feedback on wave selection, technique, equipment choices, and more.
- Students receive hands-on assistance when they are struggling, but the focus is on developing independent surf skills and experience.
The Kids Surf Club is open to intermediate students ages 7-16.

Many Surf Club participants have been recommended to the club sessions through their experience with Kids Surf Camp and/or Private Lessons.

- The Adult Surf Club is open to students 15 years and older who have been preselected for the club through beginner surf classes or private lessons.If this is your first time surfing with Summertime Surf, review the questions below to insure this class is the right fit for you.How to self identify yourself as an intermediate/advanced surfer:
  1. Can you independently paddle out and catch your own waves in clean conditions?
  2. Are interested in advancing specific skills?

  4. Can you enter and exit the water on knee to stomach high days with ease?
  5. Have you demonstrated basic control of your surfboard while riding in the whitewater?

Note: Fiberglass surfboards are not appropriate for Kids Surf Club. Surfers that show proficiency on a fiberglass are recommended to check out Grom Team.
